True Office Culture

My First Team Anaheim Hills office is the best place to be if you are a real estate agent. Last week was an amazing week that I kept wanting to Blog about for my Ah Ha moments. Last Tuesday was value packed because I did my team meeting at the Anaheim Hills Community Center before I had my speakers go on and do their short sale and 5 yr outlook. Well, I had several agents from other brokerages sitting in at my team meeting and listening to my agents tell their latest success stories. It was really cool when one of those agents came up to me and said she had been in real estate for 25 years and that was by far one of the most inspiring and best team meetings she has ever seen. After all these years, it never gets old when agents tell me my team meetings are the best they have ever been to. I put a lot in to them each week with the only objective in mind, and that is to have my agents walk away with a valuable strategy for that week and inspired to get out there and implement it!

Well, the week got better because I had the CEO of our company come out and we had a huge turn out and my agents that had been with our company for 20yrs said that was the best information they have ever heard from him. So bottom line, HOMERUN. Our CEO, Cameron Merage, sits on boards with the highest level of bank and government officials to keep a pulse on what his agents need to know about the market. In addition, Cameron Merage has built more agents and managers careers over 32 years than anyone else I have ever even heard of. Hence, one of the reasons I joined his team last year. When you see the head people and managers around him that have worked for him for over 20 years and show nothing but loyalty and gratitude well, THAT’S where I want to hang my hat!

So, last night was the grand Ah Ha and warm feeling I got. It was about 5:15pm and I had just got done coaching my 17th agent from the day. Tuesday is my day to coach agents. That day is theirs. I totally devote every last bit of energy into them and what they need on accountability and guidance. This is always my favorite day of the week. I love what we all create together on Tuesday’s! Nothing but positive energy following through those walls in Anaheim Hills let me tell you! In any event, I get out of the coaching session to jump into doing our new listing presentation for one of my luxury agents who got a listing appointment out of our Saturday Knock a Thon I did with them. The listing is today for a $2 million property. It was an expired listing so, again, strategy I had her implement from December. So last night I role played with her. Well, Barbara Greenfield and Judy Coppage LEGENDS in Anaheim Hills showed up with my #1 agent, Geri Sexton, and Andrew Alvarez videoed the role playing session I did with my agent. We ended up having about 10 agents watch me role play the listing presentation with her. It was pretty cool. Well, the night didn’t stop there. Mike Kelly, an agent I hired last year and the #1 agent in Anaheim Hills came in for this agent just to help her put this stellar listing presentation together. I couldn’t believe it! So after the role playing session Mike Kelly then showed everyone how to utilize our new listing presentation. So, I am sitting with my agent who I and Mike just helped, and she looks at me quietly and says, “Man, I am blown away at how everyone in the office bans together and helps one another! Look at this Mike Kelly even comes in and does whatever it takes for ME to get a listing. I never in a million years would have had anyone help me like this at my last office.”

She was blown away, and I looked up and saw all the laughing and comradely going on and everyone just truly and authentically caring for one another’s success. I actually got caught with emotion and went home last night and thanked God that I have found such a home in Anaheim Hills and found all of these wonderful people I am proud not only to be in business with but call my friends.

My mentor and friend, Fred Nassab, told me “Never under-estimate the power of your environment.” Those words could not be truer. I only want positive people coming from a place of contribution in their heart around me. We are just human and we absorb negative energy, and I live my life working so hard to keep those around me positive and inspired. Isn’t it a million times better and more inspiring to work among true talent that NO ONE has an “I am better than you attitude” and you know there is always someone there that has your back? That’s true culture in my opinion. I love my guys and what we are creating together! No wonder we are experiencing huge results!

  1. I have worked in Jennifer Berman’s Real Estate office for almost 8 years as the Receptionist. It is hard to believe what a transformation has taken place with Jennifer at the “helm”. I have seen many agents rise to the occasion as a result of her incredible motivational techniques. Many an Ah Ha moment in this office using those techniques. It was an honor to have Cameron Merage visit our office at Jennifer’s invitation, and give an amazing presentation that even the seasoned agents were able to take away many lessons learned. The market has changed and so has our office. We have had numerous training sessions and interesting speakers which have been very beneficial, especially for new agents. Jennifer has sat down with each and every one of them to see exactly what they need. Jennifer is a “Rock Star” and has shown all of us the benefits of the True Office Culture.
